The Bear Goes Walkabout featured William Walton’s The Bear and two new chamber operas – Red As Blood and Bare – written by emerging composers Joel Rust and Philip Ashworth.

Joel’s and Philip’s operas were selected through a composition competition, judged by Jonathan Dove, that attracted entries from more than fifty composers across the UK and overseas.
